Stop scrolling! Creative content alert!

Creating great products is one thing. Creating content that makes people stop scrolling is another.

Over a number of years, we worked closely with Halewood Artisanal Spirits to build a diverse and engaging library of photography, videography and social-first creative content across a range of their drinks brands. The content was designed to support marketing campaigns, product launches and ongoing social media activity while helping each brand stand out in an increasingly competitive market.

Working from Surfr’s studio in Southport and across a variety of creative environments, we photographed and filmed a wide selection of products including ales, lagers, porters, stouts and spirits The challenge was not simply to showcase the products themselves, but to create content that reflected the personality, heritage and individuality of each brand.

As consumer attention spans continue to shrink, creating content that captures attention within the first few seconds has become more important than ever. To achieve this, we combined traditional product photography with creative videography, animation and social-first content formats designed specifically for platforms such as Instagram and Facebook.

One particularly memorable campaign saw us create a stop motion animation for Valentine’s Day featuring two bottles of Hawkshead Red falling in love and getting married. By combining humour, storytelling and handcrafted animation techniques, the campaign delivered a playful and engaging piece of content that helped the brand stand out amongst the predictable seasonal marketing appearing across social media feeds.

Alongside campaign work, we also created eye-catching 3D ‘pop-out’ social media content that gave products the illusion of breaking beyond the boundaries of the screen. These highly engaging visuals were specifically designed to stop scrolling audiences in their tracks and encourage interaction across social platforms.

The final result was a versatile content library containing photography, video production, stop motion animation and social media assets that could be used throughout the year across multiple campaigns and channels. The project demonstrates how creative content creation can help drinks brands build engagement, strengthen brand personality and remain visible in an increasingly crowded digital landscape.
