Surfr Media was commissioned by JAWW Marketing to provide photo and video content for a destination marketing campaign in Jamaica. The project took place at Sandals Ochi Resort, where radio stations from the UK and Canada were broadcasting live as part of a campaign to promote Jamaica as open and ready to welcome visitors following storm disruption.

As the assigned content creator for the trip, our role was to capture daily photo and video content that could help the stations, JAWW Marketing and campaign partners tell the story in real time. From live radio broadcasts on the beach to resort experiences, excursions and activities across the island, the content needed to feel vibrant, immediate and full of energy.

This was not a slow, controlled studio project. It was fast-moving, reactive content creation across multiple days, locations and activities. Each day involved capturing the live radio broadcasts from a broadcast marquee on the beach, alongside photography and video content from the experiences taking place around the campaign.

The aim was to show the atmosphere, the people, the resort, the destination and the once-in-a-lifetime nature of the prize holidays being promoted by the radio stations. For a campaign like this, content needs to do more than simply document what happened. It needs to help people feel like they are there.

Our content creation work included:

  • photography of the live radio broadcasts
  • video clips from the broadcast marquee on the beach
  • behind-the-scenes content with presenters and guests
  • photo and video coverage of resort activities
  • content from excursions and island experiences
  • social media-ready assets for the campaign
  • visual content to support the promotion of Jamaica and Sandals Ochi Resort

Activities included cliff jumping, quad biking, waterfall climbing, party boats, golf and beachside broadcasts from the resort. The result was a library of photo and video content that could be used by all statiobs throughout the campaign to keep the promotion active, engaging and visually exciting.
